Midsole and structural updates

The primary innovation of the Alphafly 4 is the debut of ZoomX LT foam. According to data released by the brand, the new compound is 17% lighter and offers 8% more energy return compared to the standard ZoomX foam. The midsole continues to combine this material with two Air Zoom pods in the forefoot, alongside a redesigned carbon fiber plate that is now wider to improve stride stability. The upper has also been revamped with a fully seamless construction.

Lighter and more efficient

Overall, Nike claims the Alphafly 4 is 5% lighter and delivers 10% more energy return than the Alphafly 3. The official launch is slated for late October, though early presale batches sold out in minutes across international storefronts.

The announced retail price is $280, pushing past $300 with local taxes in the United States—a price point that typically translates to roughly R$ 3,000 in the Brazilian market. The announcement was analyzed on the panel of Radar Stemma #77 (which also covered other weekly endurance topics), sparking discussion on whether the new shoe will reaffirm Nike's dominance at the pinnacle of road racing.
