Her first opportunity outside Brazil came in 2017, when Thayná traveled to race in Mexico with her team. Shortly after, between 2018 and 2019, she earned her official call-up to the Brazilian National Team in the under-23 category, competing in international events such as the South American Games.
For Thayná, wearing Brazil's colors represented the culmination of years of hard work. The athlete described the moment as indescribable when she realized she had reached the pinnacle of national representation in cycling.
