RunSignUp Launches AI Assistant to Analyze Race Pacing
The US platform uses artificial intelligence to compare athletes and interpret race splits.
RunSignUp has developed an artificial intelligence tool that answers pacing questions and compares runner results using text prompts. The new feature aims to simplify post-race analysis and streamline customer support for race organizers.
Analyzing splits and finish times in road races just got a boost from artificial intelligence. US-based RunSignUp, one of the world's largest registration and timing platforms, has introduced an AI assistant designed to interpret athletic performances, evaluate pace drops, and make direct comparisons between runners using natural language.
With the tool integrated into partner events, runners no longer need to navigate extensive spreadsheets or manually cross-reference splits. They can simply ask the system direct questions—such as identifying at which mile their pace fluctuated or comparing their performance against another participant—to receive a detailed, contextual summary.
Organizer support and next steps
Activating the feature is free for organizers using RunSignUp. Beyond detailing runner performance, the platform offers virtual agents configured to answer operational questions, such as registration tier pricing and start times, reducing customer support volume before and after races.
In the company's future roadmap, the assistant is also slated to handle end-to-end operational tasks, including registration transfers, refund processing, and deferrals directly through the chat interface.
Dominance in the US market
The update reinforces RunSignUp's footprint in the US road racing sector, where the company holds roughly 60% of the registration market—a much more concentrated landscape than Brazil's market, which features dozens of active providers.
The tool was featured in episode 81 of Radar Stemma, which analyzes weekly news across the running and endurance world.
