Marketing Creativity Comes from References, Félix Grivot Says
In a conversation on Marketing - The Podcast, FCamara's head of marketing discusses DIY culture and the pursuit of creative references.
Félix Grivot discusses how music, literature, and curiosity fuel professional marketing work. He shares hands-on lessons from early in his career and the mindset inherited from the hardcore music scene.
In a conversation with Bruno Gimenes on Marketing - The Podcast, Félix Grivot, Head of Marketing at FCamara, shared insights into his personal journey, cultural habits, and how interests outside the corporate environment shape creative work.
In the video above, Grivot explains that he strives to balance the fast-paced marketing routine with music, cinema, and literature, citing the ongoing pursuit of cultural references as fuel for fresh ideas. "There's a quote by Piangers saying that creativity stems from the references we collect. And I really try to live by that. So, I managed to merge this hectic marketing work life—where we're always running at full speed—with references and diverse influences all the time," he points out.
A native of Rio Grande do Sul living in São Paulo since 2019 and a supporter of Internacional soccer club, Grivot still plays in a hardcore band formed during his youth, whose members are now scattered across different cities and reunite once a year to play. "The setlist is the same, the quality is low, but music is one of the things that connects me the most," he shares.
For Grivot, his background in the independent music scene and DIY culture helped shape a hands-on, curious approach to business challenges. He draws a direct parallel between the experimentation required to produce music or content in the 2000s and technical learning in digital marketing: "Back at the start of my marketing career, man, to learn by doing, I used to set up Google Ads campaigns with the Google support team on the phone, Bruno. Just look at how crazy that was—jumping in and learning by doing."
According to Grivot, ongoing curiosity and a willingness to test tools hands-on build skills that expand a marketer's strategic toolkit. The full episode also explores topics such as SLA alignment between Marketing and Sales, B2B growth strategies, and go-to-market trends.
