Branding, Consistency, and Brand Perspective in GEO
Félix Grivot explains how integrating channels, SEO, and branding drives relevance across AI search engines.
In a conversation on Marketing - The Podcast, Félix Grivot explores positioning in Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) and the commoditization of AI content. He argues that true differentiation relies on a company's unique point of view and consistent execution across the marketing mix.
Félix Grivot, Head of Marketing at FCamara, discussed the roles of branding, SEO, and multi-channel consistency during an interview with Bruno Gimenes on Marketing - The Podcast. Analyzing market cycles and emerging trends, Grivot pushed back against the habit of abandoning proven strategies whenever a new technology or format grabs industry headlines.
In the video above, the discussion breaks down the shift from traditional search engines to AI-generated answers and the practical impact this transition has on everyday sales operations. The full episode also covers broader alignment between marketing and sales within the B2B landscape.
Strategic consistency over scorched earth
Addressing doubts about the value of investing in brand building or SEO amid the surge in AI tools and paid media, Grivot argues that overlapping channels and sustained discipline easily beat constantly shifting priorities. For him, no single innovation makes foundational groundwork obsolete.
"Once again, consistency in execution. That's a word I repeat constantly, and I try harder every day to make it clear to my team when sharing knowledge: one strategy doesn't wipe out another. It's not scorched earth. It's not a matter of 'hey, now we pivot everything over here and call it a day,'" Grivot asserts.
Lead tracking and GEO positioning
Discussing Generative Engine Optimization (GEO), Grivot shared practical insights on capturing qualified opportunities originating from large language models. Tracking involves both CRM data and direct follow-ups from the SDR team during discovery calls.
Grivot explains that their pipeline already logs contacts originating from tools like ChatGPT: "We've started seeing leads in our CRM attributed directly to ChatGPT through proper tracking, but we still have SDRs asking those MQLs exactly what prompt they gave the LLM to find us." In his view, winning visibility in these engines is the direct result of pairing ongoing paid media and deep content with a strong brand across every touchpoint.
Authentic point of view in the face of commoditization
Because generating structured copy with AI tools has become effortless, sheer output volume is no longer a competitive moat. Brand relevance now hinges on the distinct, authoritative perspective an organization brings to every topic.
"Content creation has become a commodity. You open up your LLM, type in the topic, and immediately get a 500-word post. But what is your company's actual point of view on that subject? What value are you really adding?" Grivot asks. According to him, taking a clear stance is what keeps a brand's messaging from blending into market noise.
Business maturity and payback timelines
When planning marketing mix execution, Grivot highlights that choosing between immediate-demand tactics and long-term brand equity depends on an organization's financial stage. Bootstrapped operations and venture-backed startups require fundamentally different trade-offs between speed and spend.
Grivot warns against quick-fix promises for indexing in generative AI platforms: "Whenever someone promises a magic formula, be skeptical. That is the central takeaway." Gimenes reinforces this point, noting that technical SEO and building sustainable authority typically require 6 to 12 months of consistent execution before delivering meaningful results.
