Who Is Juliana Rosso Frediano

With nearly two decades of professional experience, Frediano launched her career at Serasa in product management before pivoting permanently to marketing. Holding a degree in International Relations, she balances her executive life in São Paulo with family, a passion for travel, and a training routine that includes swimming, cycling, and weightlifting.

Reflecting on the breakneck pace of market shifts and the continuous learning required of leaders, Frediano points out: "Things evolve so fast that we simply can't afford to ignore the latest social platform, emerging technology, or new trend. We have to stay tuned into everything—even if it's just to decide what makes strategic sense to pursue and what to skip."

Revenue Architecture and the Modern CMO's Role

What Is Revenue Architecture and the Role of the Modern CMO

Developed by Winning by Design, Revenue Architecture mathematically maps every stage of the customer lifecycle across business functions to drive predictable revenue. To bridge marketing execution with executive-level financial outcomes, Frediano complemented her early background with postgraduate studies in finance at Insper.

In Frediano's view, marketing leaders must look past standalone volume metrics to establish executive credibility. "A revenue-focused CMO is someone who thinks strategically, influences the board, and commands real authority. I like to joke that this is the CMO who earns a seat at the adult table. They stop being pigeonholed as the quirky creative with fun ideas and become a strategic leader the CEO genuinely relies on," she explains.

Breaking Down Silos Across Marketing, Sales, and CS with RevOps

Fragmented operations often trigger internal friction when distinct departments chase conflicting vanity metrics. RevOps solves this by unifying the tech stack, establishing shared real-time dashboards, and engineering frictionless workflows spanning lead generation, pipeline conversion, and customer retention.

Frediano also emphasizes that master storytelling is vital to align marketing initiatives with the CFO and secure capital. "Storytelling is how you defend a project, champion an idea, and win budget from the CFO to fund critical strategic initiatives," she notes.

The Impact and Measurement of Branding in Revenue Generation

Brand equity directly impacts buyer trust and commercial conversion efficiency. Relying solely on performance marketing and paid ad auctions turns customer acquisition unsustainable over time, especially since modern purchase decisions require multiple touchpoints across the journey.

Addressing how brand credibility shapes purchasing decisions, Frediano asks: "Would you buy from a brand you know nothing about, don't trust, and see no authority in? A brand without a credible website or social proof showing real customers who used the solution and loved it?"

The Bowtie Funnel and Post-Sale Retention

Traditional linear funnels end at the point of purchase, overlooking onboarding, retention, account expansion, and brand advocacy. The bowtie funnel model broadens this horizon by focusing on the moment a customer derives actual recurring value from the product, actively curbing churn.

Frediano stresses the value of feeding retention data back into top-of-funnel targeting: "That's the true power of unifying marketing, sales, and CS. When you see which new accounts stay, thrive, and advocate for your solution, you can go straight back to marketing and say, 'Go find me a hundred more just like them.'"

Metrics, Fragmented Data, and the Marketing ROI Dilemma

Industry benchmarks consistently reveal that fragmented data and attribution blind spots erode executive confidence in marketing ROI. Leveraging AI alongside econometric and statistical modeling helps pinpoint true channel contribution while respecting the longer conversion windows typical of enterprise B2B sales and live industry events.

Discussing misaligned performance expectations, Frediano emphasizes: "Every channel demands its own measurement methodology. For corporate events, depending on your deal cycle, returns might take three to six months to materialize. When selling an enterprise ERP or CRM suite, nobody signs a deal on the exhibition floor."

Wavy Case Study: International Expansion Across Latin America

During her tenure at Wavy, an omnichannel tech company within Movile Group that was later acquired by Sinch, Frediano spearheaded the brand's footprint across Latin American markets like Mexico and Colombia. Her strategy relied on verticalized customer success stories and strong relationships with regional media.

Frediano recalls the core priorities of that global push: "My two major mandates were building brand recognition across Latin America—not just Brazil—and stepping out of the protective shadow of Movile, which in reality had served as our training wheels."

First Answer and the Rise of Generative Engine Optimization (GEO)

First Answer created an AI-powered intelligence platform dedicated to tracking and diagnosing brand visibility across generative search engines like ChatGPT and Perplexity. The solution audits strategic prompt clusters, analyzes brand sentiment, and guides tailored content frameworks for generative ecosystems.

Frediano underlines that robust technical foundation and high-quality legacy content remain crucial in this new landscape: "Roughly 60% to 70% of traditional technical SEO best practices directly translate to Generative Engine Optimization. If you already have quality long-form articles, video resources, and a technically clean website indexed on Google, you are already ahead in AI search."

Three Practical Steps to Implement Revenue Architecture

Rolling out Revenue Architecture requires leadership alignment, streamlined systems, and disciplined operational workflows. Frediano advises business leaders to prioritize executive education before configuring unified CRM stacks and aligning cross-functional goals.

Summarizing the implementation blueprint, Frediano outlines: "I break it down into three stages: executive education with direct C-suite buy-in, consolidating the shared tech stack, and defining cross-functional processes. From there, maintaining consistency comes down to shared cadences. Targets shouldn't belong exclusively to marketing, sales, or CS—every target is a company-wide revenue goal."
