Reinaldo Colucci Eyes 2026 with New Bike and Ironman Focus

Live from Carnival camp, the triathlete details his new Fila partnership, bike switch, and 2026 season goals.

In an exclusive interview at Tricamp Ohata Colucci, Reinaldo Colucci reflected on the growth of professional triathlon in Brazil and the challenges of last season. The multi-champion revealed his new gear updates for 2026 and outlined ambitious goals across the Ironman circuit.

Welcoming Beginners at Carnival Tricamp

Directly from Espaço Ohata Colucci, Reinaldo Colucci hosted the Stemma Sports team during the Carnival Tricamp. In its fourth edition, the clinic adopted a format designed exclusively for beginners and athletes who had never experienced the three integrated disciplines before. Scaling down the number of participants ensured personalized attention, technical safety during transition drills, and a controlled environment for newcomers dreaming of their triathlon debut.

The dedicated training center features a 25-meter, six-lane semi-Olympic pool and cross-training facilities, where Mariana Ohata leads amateur classes on Mondays and Thursdays. For high-performance routines with Manoel Messias, the base expands to the Sesi facilities and Parque Damha, which provides a safe, traffic-free cycling circuit and a lake designated for open-water swim simulations.

Reviewing the Past Season

Looking back at the previous season, Colucci highlighted that it was the year with his career's highest volume of long-course races, driven by the return of the professional category to the national Ironman circuit. The schedule brought moments of resilience: after facing a grueling stage in Brasília and contracting dengue fever on the eve of Ironman Brazil in Florianópolis, the triathlete relied on altitude training foundations to take second place at Ironman 70.3 Rio de Janeiro and earn another podium spot at 70.3 São Paulo.

In Aracaju, the demanding climate required tactical adjustments amid a highly competitive field. For Colucci, the overall takeaway was positive due to his consistent elite-level performance, setting the stage for an even more intense race schedule ahead.

New Equipment and 2026 Goals

For the 2026 season, Reinaldo Colucci enters the circuit with significant setup updates. On the bike, the athlete switched to a size 61 Cervélo, seeking a more comfortable bike fit for his height after three years of partnership with Trek. In running, Colucci joins the official Fila athlete roster, a brand that also sponsors the run segment in the Ironman circuit.

His competitive debut takes place at Ironman 70.3 Curitiba. The season goal is to race all available national circuit events, chase more 70.3 wins to surpass the 10-title milestone, and contend for the top of the podium at full Ironman Brazil, keeping up his tradition of stellar performances in even-numbered years.

A New Generation and a Stronger Pro Field

The growth of the national Ironman circuit has transformed the elite landscape across the country. Colucci stressed that regular pro events have attracted new talent and inspired young athletes to accelerate their transition to high performance, building a sustainable career path for rising stars in the sport.
