Matheus Menezes broke down his Cervelo P5 build for Ironman 70.3 São Paulo. The size 58 bike features a 12-speed Shimano Dura-Ace groupset, a Delta Speed cockpit, and Continental GP 5000 TT tires.
Among the machines lined up in the professional field at Nubank Ultravioleta IRONMAN 70.3 São Paulo, Matheus Menezes's Cervelo P5 stands out for its size and components dialed in for the fast Brazilian course.
Geometry and drivetrain
As a taller athlete, Matheus rides a size 58 frame from the latest generation of the Cervelo P5. The drivetrain is powered by a 12-speed Shimano Dura-Ace groupset with 170 mm crankarms.
Up front, the triathlete temporarily opted for a 54-tooth chainring. Matheus noted that the setup is still conservative and that he plans gearing upgrades soon, having arrived in São Paulo straight from competing at the World Championship in Nice with little time for extensive modifications.
Cockpit, wheels, and tires
Up front, the bike features an aerodynamic cockpit by Delta Speed. Matheus mentioned undergoing a bike fit about four to five weeks prior to the event, achieving full adaptation and comfort in his aero tuck.
The wheelset features HED wheels wrapped in Continental GP 5000 TT tires front and rear, known for their low rolling resistance. Rounding out the contact points and ergonomics, the athlete runs a Specialized Sitero saddle.
