Who Is Fabiana Ferreira, the Voice of Brazilian Trail Running
Journalist, physical educator, athlete, and grandmother, the announcer shares her multifaceted journey on Stemma Na Trilha.
Known for welcoming runners across finish lines nationwide, Fabiana Ferreira opens up about her sporting and professional career. From former paddling athlete to beach tennis coach, Fabi embodies energy and versatility.
Known in the mountains for giving voice to athletes' emotions at the finish line, Fabiana Ferreira is far more than just a trail running event announcer. In an appearance on the Stemma Na Trilha podcast, hosted by Sidney Togumi, she detailed a multifaceted routine that combines academic training, a background in outdoor sports, and personal projects both inside and outside the arena.
Journalism, family, and special celebrations
A trained journalist and physical educator, Fabi describes herself as deeply passionate about the outdoors since her teenage years. Mother to Maitê and Caíque, and grandmother to Lira and Bento, she built such a close bond with the running community that she created the project "Fabi casa vocês" (Fabi Marries You), officiating weddings for athletes who follow her at races. In addition to her work as an MC and sports announcer, she also does occasional commercial modeling.
Athletic journey: from the ocean to sand courts
Fabiana's athletic background is extensive. With roots tied to the sea and paddling sports, she competed in adventure racing, rafting, and outrigger canoeing—a discipline in which she reached the South American Championship. More recently, she took up cycling and discovered a new passion in beach tennis: today, she is an active athlete and coach with her own methodology tailored for children, teaching around 40 students.
Energy, a 50+ routine, and good humor
Keeping up such an intense pace demands careful attention to physical recovery. In her 50s and navigating the hormonal changes of menopause, Fabiana emphasizes that she prioritizes getting eight hours of sleep whenever her event schedule allows. Since her announcing work relies directly on physical stamina and the energy to keep arenas engaged for hours on end, she jokes that the only thing capable of souring her mood before stepping into the studio or onto the racecourse is hunger.
The conversation is featured in episode 23 of Stemma Na Trilha, which also covers Fabiana's transition into sports announcing and memorable behind-the-scenes moments from her career in the mountains.
