The NB 42k Porto Alegre Marathon and the Kipchoge Phenomenon

Daniel Krutman highlighted his presence at the NB 42k Porto Alegre for two main reasons: to witness Eliud Kipchoge's visit to Brazil to run the marathon and to give a lecture to runners about the "running code." He expressed enthusiasm in seeing an event that has grown exponentially, jumping from 12-15 thousand to 23,000 people this edition. The organization, led by Run Sports (Cláudio and team), is praised for its quality of delivery and the excellent experience it provides to runners. Ticket Sports is proud to be the registration platform for this event which, according to Krutman, “is only going to the top.” A relaxed moment of the interview was the Kipchoge-inspired song created by Daniel, a fun anthem to the athlete's popularity.

Trends and Consolidation in the Running Market

Addressing the general market scenario, Daniel Krutman noted that, although the current year presents challenges, the sector continues to grow. After years of significant increases (25% to 45% annually), the organic growth of participating runners in events has stabilized between 5% and 7%. This slowdown is not negative, especially as it occurs on an increasingly larger participant base. For Krutman, this is a moment of consolidation, where quality must prevail over uncontrolled growth.

Quality and Sustainability: The Future of Events

Krutman emphasizes that events like marathons are "endurance races," comparable to ultramarathons, not speed trials. They require consistency and need to grow sustainably, delivering memorable experiences to participants. The "money-grabbing" mindset is no longer supported by the market, and runners are increasingly critical, seeking events with soul, professionalism, and identity.

Ticket Sports' Vision and Next Steps

Ticket Sports continues to be a fundamental pillar in the market, collecting and providing valuable data on athletes' profiles. Krutman thanked Run Sports for the invitation and Stemma Sports for their work in connecting and democratizing the world of running. He took the opportunity to invite everyone to the TS Summit, which will take place on September 2nd, where Radar Stemma will provide live coverage.
