São Silvestre: Registration Opens for the 101st Edition

With 55,000 spots and a stable platform, Brazil's most traditional race introduces an AI-powered training service.

Registration for the 101st São Silvestre Road Race opened with 30,000 spots confirmed on day one. Alongside a smooth sign-up platform, this edition introduces an official AI-powered sports coaching service.

Registration for the 101st São Silvestre International Road Race opened on September 30 to high demand, with organizers recording 30,000 confirmations within the first 24 hours. For this edition, approximately 55,000 total spots are expected to be available for the most traditional 15k race in Brazilian athletics.

Unlike the previous edition—which saw intense server strain during the historic 100th race—the registration process went significantly more smoothly. Runners reported completing their purchases in 10 to 15 minutes, avoiding the system crashes typically caused by massive traffic spikes.

The standard registration fee was set at R$ 335.90 (plus convenience fees), marking an increase of approximately 5% compared to last year's R$ 319, in line with inflation adjustments over the period.

The main technical highlight for runners planning to line up on Paulista Avenue is the debut of Azila, the official training platform. This optional add-on can be purchased directly during registration to support specific preparation for the 15k race.

The tool generates custom training plans tailored to each runner's history, routine, and goals. By integrating data from GPS watches and heart rate monitors, the AI algorithm recalibrates workloads and mileage each week, adapting training progress through December 31.
