Returning to Cocodona and aiming for Hardrock
Manuela's top priority on the horizon is returning to Cocodona, the iconic 250-mile US race. Having previously finished the event in 78 hours, the Brazilian athlete's personal goal is to lower that time, regardless of her overall ranking against competitors. In addition to the US race, Manu confirmed she continues to enter the competitive annual lottery for the prestigious Hardrock 100.
Sponsorships and gear partners
To tackle consecutive days of intense effort on technical terrain, the athlete relies on an established partner network. Manuela is sponsored by footwear brand Mount to Coast and relies on Tailwind Nutrition for energy supplementation and hydration. Her partner roster also includes Pacific for socks, running vests and packs from Tantrum, and headlamps from Nitecore.
An unusual ox encounter on the trail
Asked to recall a memorable moment from her career, Manu shared a bizarre incident from a multisport bike race. While attempting to pass an ox along the trail, she was suddenly headbutted by the animal and sent tumbling down a steep embankment. Despite rolling down the dirt slope and losing her water bottle, she got back up, remounted her bike, and pushed through to the finish line.
