Djenyfer Arnold on Returning to Ironman 70.3 Florianópolis

Defending champion highlights new course, healthy start, and strong emotional connection to Florianópolis.

Returning to Ironman 70.3 Florianópolis, Djenyfer Arnold arrives fresh off short-course racing and celebrates starting in peak health. The triathlete highlighted her history with the city and commented on the new race route.

Reigning Nubank Ultravioleta Ironman 70.3 Florianópolis champion Djenyfer Arnold heads into this edition with a lighthearted yet focused mindset. Right from the start, the athlete joked about the route changes: with the course overhaul, no one can truly claim to be defending a title, as it is technically a brand-new race.

Coming off a string of short-course, fast-paced races, Djenyfer looks forward to seeing how her body responds to the middle distance this Sunday. The key difference this time around, however, is her physical condition: last year, she raced with a fever, whereas now she hits the water fully recovered and healthy, kicking off the contest in a far better spot.

An emotional bond with Florianópolis

Even with memories of last year's suffering, Djenyfer fondly looks back on celebrating her previous victory, noting that enjoying the finish line doesn't erase the pain of the effort, but it makes the celebration unforgettable.

Racing in Florianópolis brings a positive emotional lift for the triathlete. It was in this city that her triathlon journey began and where she lived for many years, giving any sporting event held on the island a welcoming, hometown atmosphere.
