Who Rafael Somera Is Outside the Corporate World
In a podcast interview, the Solutudo leader reflects on fatherhood, self-discovery, and mental health.
Rafael Somera opens up about his personal life beyond business and corporate roles. The founder of Solutudo shares insights on self-discovery, parenting, and the importance of mental health support in leadership.
Beyond executive titles and corporate leadership, individual motivations and personal life shape how business leaders operate. Speaking with Bruno Gimenes on Marketing - The Podcast, Rafael Somera, CEO of Solutudo Brasil, discussed his identity beyond his corporate badge, highlighting the role of fatherhood, continuous curiosity, and regular mental health care.
In the video above, Somera comments on the importance of self-discovery and how he approaches his own journey. "I am a seeker of self-knowledge, of knowing myself—it's no coincidence that I run a search engine too, because I think it couldn't be any other way," says Somera, father to two-and-a-half-year-old Atom and expecting a second child, Apolo. His passion for writing and exchanging ideas ties into his pragmatic mindset: "If you're not on the side of the solution, you're on the other side."
Mental health maintenance was also a central theme in the conversation between Somera and Bruno. Discussing his habit of attending therapy regularly, Somera drew a direct analogy to standard preventive care. "If I take my car to the mechanic every six months, why wouldn't my mind, which is a bit more complex, need support?" explained Somera, emphasizing the value of professional help in navigating the mental complexities of daily life.
