The story of Turma do Jiló is intrinsically linked to Carola's life. With a strong background in behavioral neuroscience and as a member of the UN Human Rights Council Brazil, her passion for education gained new purpose with the arrival of her son, João. Faced with questions about João's learning capabilities, as he was born with multiple disabilities, Carola refused to accept limits.
Determined to prove that every brain is capable of learning, she delved into studies on inclusion and diversity. From this experience, Turma do Jiló was born, affectionately named after her son. The goal? To ensure that no João and no Maria are left behind, fostering an environment where all people can belong – in schools, in companies, and in society.
