Awareness and Action in Haiti Favela

Youth from VJ, along with members of Voices from the Periphery, delved into the reality of Haiti Favela. The main focus of the action was environmental education, demonstrating in practice how separating recyclable and organic waste can transform community life.

They didn't just lecture; they got their hands dirty, organizing waste into different bags. The message was clear: environmental responsibility begins with simple actions, such as proper waste disposal.

São Paulo's Innovative "3D Favela"

One of the highlights of the visit was the presentation of São Paulo's first "3D favela". The term "3D" here refers to a model of organization and cleanliness that contrasts with the common reality of many communities.

The visit highlighted that this standard of care and organization is not the norm, often due to a lack of individual responsibility with one's own waste. Haiti Favela, in this context, represents an effort to overcome this barrier and create a more structured and sustainable environment.

Together for a Cleaner and More Inclusive Future

The Turma do Jiló initiative, through the Youth Volunteer Program and in collaboration with Voices from the Periphery, exemplifies a commitment to Inclusive Education and Diversity. By engaging young people in practical actions of citizenship and sustainability, the organization contributes to the formation of a new, more conscious and active generation.

Caring for waste means caring for people, the planet, and the future. These actions transform not only the physical environment but also the community's mindset, building bridges for a welcoming and just society, as advocated by Turma do Jiló's mission.

Want to be inspired and make a difference? VJ's actions show that change happens when we unite to care for what is ours. Come be part of VJ!
