Accustomed to racing on Brazilian soil, the athlete highlighted her affection for the country and analyzed the technical challenges of the course.
Return to Brazil and Florianopolis Course Analysis
In her first race in Brazil this season, Romina celebrated the opportunity to return to the national circuit healthy and motivated. Familiar with the route in Jurerê, she pointed out that calm waters favor overall performance, although she personally prefers choppier conditions. The Argentine noted that, provided winds stay calm, both the bike and run segments make for an exceptionally fast and enjoyable course to race.
Season Review, Competition, and Race Strategy
The triathlete looked back on her journey this year, which included a win at 70.3 Punta del Este—where she overcame mechanical issues on the bike—and competing at Ironman Lake Placid in the Pro Series following a training stint in Colorado. For the Florianopolis challenge, which features an exclusively female pro start, Romina emphasized the high level of competitors such as Brazil's Vittoria Lopes and Jennifer Arnold. Her strategy centers on swimming as close to the leaders as possible and linking up with strong cyclists on the bike leg to start the run in contention for the podium.
