Tight Budgets Drive Greater Marketing Creativity
Marcos Vinicius Pereira of Newe Seguros discusses resilience, budget efficiency, and the power of asking 'why'.
In an interview on Marketing - The Podcast, Marcos Vinicius Pereira explores how budget constraints foster creative solutions. The Newe Seguros executive advocates for rigorous tracking of every investment and highlights the impact of questioning assumptions in marketing.
Marcos Vinicius Pereira, Chief Commercial, Marketing, and Customer Service Officer at Newe Seguros, spoke with Bruno Gimenes on Marketing - The Podcast about the lessons gained throughout his career and the discipline required to manage resources in the industry.
In the video above, Pereira shares reflections on resilience and his hands-on experience across different operational stages, from manually applying stickers to managing major advertising campaigns. According to Pereira, a career is built on trial and error: "I've said that my career is based on trial and error, successes and failures, but above all, we need a lot of resilience in everything we do, to love what we do—I think that's the secret to everything else, you know, trusting the process."
Efficiency and budget constraints
For Pereira, operating under financial constraints drives the search for innovative solutions. "If there is one thing that runs through these stories and taught me a lot in my career, it's that having to work with limited budgets forces you to be more creative, you know?" he explains.
He emphasizes that even when a company has a larger budget, rigorous measurement must remain standard. In Pereira's view, spending unchecked simply because of a third party's pitch is a mistake: "We have to measure every penny spent, we have to evaluate whether we are operating efficiently, and not just because a good agency pitched it." Pereira adds that boutique agencies often deliver more creative solutions because they are accustomed to doing more with less.
The role of constant questioning
Beyond cost management, Pereira emphasizes the importance of continually questioning day-to-day processes. He recalls a key lesson from his first college marketing course with professor Cláudio Bessa: "The biggest question for an advertiser or marketer is 'why.'"
For Pereira, weaving this question into daily routines expands leadership vision and reveals untapped opportunities. By asking the reason behind every decision, teams discover alternative paths, turning constructive challenge into an ingrained workplace habit.
