Facing Barriers and Prejudice

From the very beginning of her career, Vered encountered significant barriers, especially as a young woman. She recalls situations where she would enter a room as the boss and be ignored, automatically being perceived as the most junior person. This reality spurred her to develop strategies to deal with prejudice and reaffirm her position.

The Battle for Authenticity: Curls and Personal Style

The pressure to conform wasn't limited to behavior; it also extended to appearance. Vered confessed to having received so many comments about her curls that, for a period, she felt compelled to straighten them. This experience was a turning point, leading her to embrace her true identity and understand that she didn't need to mold herself to external expectations to be respected or successful.

Finding Her Genuine Leadership Voice

Over time, Vered developed a leadership style that reflects her personality. Unlike many models she observed, which were more “forceful” (imposing), she opted for an approach that values active listening. She enjoys listening to her team, as you yourself, Livia, mentioned about her style, ensuring that all voices are considered before making decisions. However, she emphasizes that, as CEO, the responsibility for the final decision rests with her.

Vered Levy-Ron's journey is a powerful reminder that authenticity is not just a personal choice, but a force that drives us to be more effective and inspiring leaders. Her story invites us to question norms and find our own voice, building a future where diversity is celebrated and female empowerment flourishes.
