How Mobile OOH on Motorcycle Delivery Boxes Adds Value

Luís Felipe Loli Argello explains the dynamics of motorcycle LED screens and operational focus in outdoor media.

Luís Felipe Loli Argello, CCO of We OOH, examines the rise of out-of-home media formats featuring LED screens mounted on motorcycle delivery boxes. In a conversation with Bruno Gimenes on Marketing - The Podcast, Loli outlines how this mobile medium enhances urban reach and fits within overall operations.

The emergence of new out-of-home media formats has introduced digital screens across mobile supports throughout urban centers. Luís Felipe Loli Argello, CCO of We OOH, addressed the topic in an interview with Bruno Gimenes on Marketing - The Podcast, an episode exploring different facets of Brazil's OOH sector.

In the video above, Loli assesses the viability and market space for motorcycles equipped with LED delivery boxes for advertising. Championed by companies like Guipa, founded by Pablo, the model utilizes customized fleets of 100% electric motorbikes navigating high-traffic areas in São Paulo.

The role of LED delivery boxes in the urban consumer journey

The continuous circulation of motorcyclists across cities generates visual impact in areas where static or fixed digital street media is absent. Analyzing initiatives with dedicated fleets, Loli highlights the technical specialization required for the model: "Pablo at Guipa pulled it off; he took a 100% electric motorcycle, customized it completely, and designed a box specifically for that purpose."

Despite their appeal and visibility along transit corridors, operations must navigate commercial alignment and advertiser segmentation challenges, such as handling competing app and delivery brands on the same vehicles.

Inventory focus and media complementarity

For companies built around fixed assets, entering mobile verticals demands a careful assessment of delivery capacity and differentiation. We OOH concentrates its operations across four primary verticals: iconic large formats, billboards (in standard 3x6 proportions), newsstands, and street clocks. Loli emphasizes that expanding into other segments only makes sense when the company can deliver a distinct advantage.

In Loli's view, mobile media serves as a reach booster for brands and media planners: "So, when someone isn't passing by fixed assets—moving through an area without a street clock, a newsstand, or a large-format display—the motorcycle and its delivery box are there to complement that campaign journey." Thus, mobile formats provide advertisers with complementary touchpoints without replacing traditional street-level inventory.
