A woman, who had suffered a stroke (AVC), reported being sexually abused by a nursing technician while hospitalized in the ICU of a private hospital in Vila Mariana, São Paulo. The case was reported to the police by the victim, a 29-year-old nursing technician who had a seizure on July 9th and was taken to the health unit. She alleges she was touched on her intimate parts by another nursing technician upon waking from sedation, shortly after being extubated.
The investigation is underway at the 36th Police Precinct (DP), where the victim was advised to undergo examinations at the Institute of Forensic Medicine (IML). The hospital, in turn, reported that it had opened a compliance process and is at the disposal of the Justice Department, denying complicity with any type of violence. However, the IML's information has not yet been delivered to the police, almost a month after the incident.
Six Military Police Weapons Go Missing in São Paulo
Six weapons disappeared from the 27th Military Police Battalion, located in the Vargem Grande region, in São Paulo's South Zone. The Public Security Secretariat (SSP) confirmed the occurrence. The battalion is responsible for a vast area, extending from Interlagos to Marsilac. Details about the weapon models or the date the disappearance was discovered were not released.
This case is not isolated in the state. In February, 16 .38 caliber revolvers disappeared from the armory of the Várzea Paulista Municipal Guard, and more than 52 pistols and revolvers were taken from a police station safe in Itapevi da Serra in the same month. In June, about 30 unescorted weapons in transit were stolen on Rodovia Dom Gabriel Paulino Bueno, in Jundiaí. One of the most significant incidents occurred in 2023, when 21 machine guns disappeared from the Army arsenal in Barueri; 19 were recovered, and nine people were convicted for involvement with a criminal faction. The Military Police opened an inquiry to investigate the circumstances and responsibilities.

Residents express indignation at the delays and "neglect." According to them, the number of buses is insufficient for the demand of the densely populated region. The public calls for more investment in public transportation. Rodrigo Bocardi criticized the lack of long-term planning for the city's growth, citing examples of inadequate infrastructure.
Stroke Patient Fights for Medical Treatment in Vargem Grande Paulista
Reginaldo, a driver who suffered a stroke (AVC) in 2024, faces difficulties in obtaining adequate medical treatment through the public health system of Vargem Grande Paulista, in Greater São Paulo. His wife, Graça, had to leave her job to care for him, and the family lives on a pension of only R$496. Additionally, Reginaldo needs diapers and wet wipes, which the family struggles to afford.
The family reports that Reginaldo cannot schedule appointments, physiotherapy, or be transferred to reference centers like Lucy Montoro. According to his wife, the Home Care Service (SAD), which makes home visits, only came four times in two and a half years. The city's mayor's office, in a note, stated that it has been monitoring the case since June 2024, with multidisciplinary care and physiotherapy scheduled for 2025. The administration also claimed an attempted home visit on August 5th, where no one was found at home, a fact disputed by the family.
The Municipal Health Secretariat of Vargem Grande Paulista claims that Reginaldo is not on the physiotherapy waiting list, which the family also denies, suggesting the referral was lost. The situation highlights a "blame game" between the Basic Health Unit (UBS) and the SAD for referral to Lucy Montoro, leaving the patient without the necessary treatment.
Civil Police Investigator Involved in Kidnapping in São Paulo's East Zone
A São Paulo Civil Police investigator has been confirmed as one of the men involved in the kidnapping of a young man in the Arthur Alvim neighborhood, in the capital's East Zone. Security camera footage shows the moment the young man is beaten in an alley, handcuffed, and placed in the trunk of a car that, at first glance, resembled an unmarked police vehicle.
The Public Security Secretariat (SSP) of São Paulo confirmed the officer's identification. BocaTV sources indicate that the group, of which the officer is a part, may be acting under the command of a criminal faction, the Primeiro Comando da Capital (PCC). The victim has been missing for two days, and the family, fearful, avoids speaking publicly. The identified officer did not report to work at the 78th Police Precinct after the images were released.
The Internal Affairs Division (Corregedoria) and the Department of Captures (DECAP) of the Civil Police are investigating the case and stated that judicial and disciplinary measures will be taken. The Civil Police reiterates that it does not condone such conduct, promising strict punishment and the search for other individuals involved, some of whom were seen carrying badges and heavy weaponry, such as rifles.
Aricanduva River Suffers from Garbage and Erosion in Jardim Aricanduva
